In the Nutley magazine, there was a dedicated article on the Charity Section written by Joyce Corey, talking about the scholarship funded by AOH. You can read the article below.
Sunil Advaney, Nutleyite and vice president of Act of Humanity, shares information about a new project the nonprofit launched on October 24, 2022. “In memory of our mother, Veneeta Advaney, we started a scholarship fund in her name. Our goal is to help students who need financial aid for their education and thereby open a path toward their success. By giving students access to resources, networks, and education, we aim to transform the lives of those who receive them.”
The goal of the scholarship fund is to provide long term support for high achieving, low-income, first-gen students ready to commence on a career path. Primarily, the fund will provide education scholarships between $500 to $5000 per year. Scholarship funds could be utilized to support the cost of tuition, books, or the purchase of a laptop. Recipients will also be assigned a committed college-educated mentor, equipped to guide that young person on their journey to college graduation.
Veneeta Advaney passed away in September 2022. Sunil’s brother, Suraj Advaney, is president of Act of Humanity.
This nonprofit charitable organization is dedicated to helping people in need. With the support of generous contributors
and volunteers, they aspire to help the poorest communities that are affected by poverty, disasters, or other misfortunes.
